  • Last Weekend Events...

The evening began with a white trash reception party. Here is the family portrait.

I felt a little exposed and didn't feel like wearing the mini skirt and itty tank top to the Waffle House.

    His shirt rocked.

    Great Outfits.

    Being silly. (or retarded)

Then, I changed and went to a different outing. Girls night out! I didn't get the memo that I was supposed to wear black/brown and denim. So, hot coral dress, here I come.

This girl looked as vicious as the fish.

Since, these girls started 6 hours before my arrival, I tried my best to fit in.

    Shilo her and there.

The girls in black and brown.

And when the night finally ended, we leave Scottsdale.

  • Look at this fat doby... He even has teeth under his chin. What's up with that? He is a pick-pocket-er, too.

This doby puppy ... didn't want to drink any of my spiked punch ... AND he wasn't nearly as fat.

In the end, CF and I had a great time at the BBQ.

  • a time and place for everything

I was listening to the radio the other day. The DJ say that he is a single dad. He is guilty of not answering his phone or returns texts right away. He has a reason behind it. When he's not at work, he spends a lot of time with his daughter. If he is with her at the park, a shopping center, whatever, sometimes he will let his phone ring. He does eventually return his calls. The reason: his parents didn't have cell phones. He doesn't want his daughter to have the impression that Daddy is always on the phone. If he is pushing his little girl on the swing, he will return missed calls after they are done playing at the park. Ok. Fair enough.

The other day, I meet up with an old friend who I haven't seen in 2+ years. I will call him Keith. He is attached to his phone. Keith has a very smart 9 year old daughter, and the school wants to put her in a program for gifted kids. (Awesome!) He said that knowing that she is a super sponge, he has to watch what he says and does around her now.... just be more cautious. As we were enjoying happy hour, he has his phone out with him. He was texting, making calls, and texting some more during the whole time while we were dining.  I wouldn't know what to do if my phone blew up every 30 seconds. I would ask him some questions about his birthday or his daughter (while he was texting his buddies).  I could not get complete sentences out of his mouth. He would studder, think, studder ... pause because it is hard to text, and mumble some words .... then look up at me, "Oh sorry, what did you ask?"  Well, I hope he is not "in the zone" around his daughter. Anyway, so this is what the DJ was talking about, and I absolutely agree with him.

    [07.18.2009]

Here is an oldie but goodie.
    Lyrics from Brian McKnight's  Still...

    I still think about you,

    I still dream about you,
I still want you and need you by my side,
    I'm still mad about you,
All I ever wanted was you,
Your still the one, Your still the one,
It's hard to breathe when we're apart,
You're that sunshine in my heart,
    I keep you here inside,
    You've been everything to me,
You've been and always will be,
    The apple of my eye,
And I know It's hard to believe,
Your still the biggest part of me,
    All I'm living for ...

  • [07.07.2009] Fortune Cookies with Mom

You know how most the fortune kukis have the "Learn Chinese and Lucky Numbers" on the back side. Mom brushes off that side because she is fluent.

The front of my cookie said,

    "Your mind understands what you have been taught;

    your heart, what is true."

Ahhh. Kinda "yoda-esk", but cute, none the less. It is so poetic ... I'm like on cloud 9 :)

Mom's turn: The back of Mom's cookie said, "Learn Chinese: Don't matter (not related)" or "mei you gan xi." The front of her cookie said,

"Your path is arduous but will be amply rewarding."

She gave me a look and asks, "Ummmm.... What is arduous? .... uuummmmmm. mei you guan xi." Maybe Mr. kuki maker should have translated arduous on the back of the fortune. Ok, who wrote the front and who wrote the back of the fortune? Mr. Kuki Maker also missed a comma before but. I'll let this one slide.
